Furthermore, the policy is in full accordance with the rules of the Data Protection Authority on the security of personal information and instructive request of the Financial Supervisory Authority in Iceland on the operation of information systems subject to mandatory supervision.
Important Control
Certification for an international standard on information security is proof that the company fulfils predetermined demands and furthermore, research has shown that a certified information security system leads to increased efficiency. According to Höskuldur H. Ólafsson, CEO of VALITOR, the certification has an extensive value for the company. “Next to human resources, information is the most important value of the company and without reliable information we can neither serve our clients as we should, nor meet our obligations. Thus, by adopting a certified information system, we have a powerful means of control to execute our policies, but the systematic construction of VALITOR’s security issues for the past years has certainly facilitated all our work.”
