Easter is a great time to engage your customers and boost sales for your small business. In 2016, the Co-Operative Food launched its Good Egg campaign which featured footage of strangers helping out people in need and the opportunity to nominate ‘real life good eggs’, people who they thought deserved recognition for kindness. This great multi-platform campaign was all about good vibes and acts of kindness and you can easily use the same ideas in your Easter marketing.
The idea of nominating people who are inspiring, kind or have done something lovely can be used through your social media with tagging. In person, it could be done with post-it notes on a board. Giving away something small, like a head massage at a beautician or a bunch of flowers from a florist is a low-cost way to get your customers involved and boost their affinity with your brand.
Old school egg hunting
The Easter egg hunt is a marketer’s dream and several brands have aced it. In 2018 Chocolate giants Cadbury partnered with The National Trust and put on Easter Egg hunts around the country. If you’ve got a great venue, then hiding tiny prizes or holding a special Easter egg hunt event is a great marketing opportunity.
Tech savvy egg hunting
For a more high-tech approach, Faberge launched an Easter Egg hunt around New York through their app and collaborations with artists. Using geocaching around your store or having a special app-based promotion can be a great way to get customers engaging with your space and sharing it on their social media. Use a dedicated hashtag for your Easter marketing and reward customers with discounts and a loyalty scheme with special Easter rewards.
