What is a virtual terminal?
A virtual terminal is a payment terminal hosted online; a secure web page in the customer’s web browser from which you can process card payments online without your customer or their card being present. It is known as “virtual” because it has the same function as a physical credit card terminal or point of sale system, but instead, it uses non-physical transaction software.
The terminal can be accessed and used from any device with an internet connection – be it a PC, a mobile, or a tablet. You can also receive payments from all major credit and debit card providers (Visa, Mastercard, American Express etc).
When you use Valitor as your payment processor, you’ll also be benefitting from PCI DSS compliant payments, meaning you don’t need to worry about the security of your customers or the risk of being fined for non-compliance.
Take card payments over the phone.
If your customers want to pay over the phone – whether they are making a reservation or placing an order – then a virtual terminal is the ideal debit & credit card processing solution for your business.
With Valitor, you can keep selling your products or services around the clock, even when your customers aren’t present in the flesh, or if you don’t provide face-to-face service. What’s more, you don’t even necessarily need to invest in a physical card machine at all if you don’t want to.
Easily process email payments.
Valitor’s virtual terminal also enables your customers to make payments in an online invoice or customised email.
Email payments are seamless, automated payment processes where customers can directly enter their details into your secure email link.
